Screwball: Une histoire de la comédie américaine
Clara Kuperberg, Julia Kuperberg, France, 2015o
Screwball comedy was one of the most successful genres of classic Hollywood cinema of the thirties and forties. The focus is on the eternal struggle of the sexes, which is carried out with teasing dialogues in a preferably upper class enviroment. Even though this documentary cannot quite keep up with the stunning speaking speed of a Cary Grant or a Katharine Hepburn, it offers a lively and entertaining overview of this highly amusing piece of film history.
